Manifesto,

They say words are carried away by the wind.
We don’t think so.

Words matter. A lot.
Because they don’t just name what exists; they also shape who we are.

There are words that lose their meaning.
They lose their meaning from being repeated so often.
And others that appear when we finally know how to name that thing we couldn’t explain before.

But there's something that happens before all that.
Before finding the exact word: drifting.

For a long time, we were taught that drifting meant getting lost.
We think the opposite: that straying is necessary.
That only when language shifts, when it strains, when it hesitates, does something unique emerge.

At La Deriva, that’s where we work.
In that unstable space where words are not yet fully defined.

We analyze them, take them apart, and put them back together.
Not to organize the narrative, but to find a way of speaking that is authentic.
A narrative identity that doesn’t sound correct, but inevitable.

Because sometimes, to find yourself, you first have to take a detour.
