Manifesto,

They say that words are carried away by the wind. In our studio we think that words matter, and a lot. The ones we say outwardly, but above all, the ones we say to ourselves. Words sometimes liberate and sometimes enclose. And how grateful words are! They change their dress when we believe they are better accompanied by this or that complement, they are shortened in favor of the economy of language, they adapt to all accents, and together they have a power that only some of them possess on their own.

There are those that have lost their luster through use, such as happiness, freedom, love or desire. Fortunately, the dictionary is always cleaning up, discarding some obsolete terms and adding new ways of naming that which we did not know could be defined before. That which is so graspable that it must be named. Sorority, transgender, procrastination and resilience are words that have been created or rescued so that we can express ourselves more accurately.

Drift is one of those words with a lot of weight behind it. It would seem that drifting is something negative. In our studio we think that drifting is necessary to be able to find ourselves. That if we do not drift a few millimeters off course, we will not know that we are going in the right direction.

In LaDeriva, we collect all meanings and signifiers. We analyze, undress and dress them with new ideas; surprising, interesting, unusual and necessary. We take the definitions to build a specific, essential and creative narrative identity for each project. A new terminology for a new narrative, yours.
